Ltd. today launched the first official poster and the theatrical trailer of their upcoming project D-Day at Cinemax Andheri in Mumbai. Directed by Nikhil Advani, D-Day is a high octane thriller revolving around a covert mission to bring India’s Most Wanted fugitive to justice. The movie stars Rishi Kapoor, Arjun Rampal, Irrfan Khan, Aakash Dahiya,  Huma Qureshi, Shruti Haasan, Chandan Roy Sanyal & Sree Swara Dubey.

D-Day’s first look poster was unveiled by director in the presence of  the cast & crew along with the producers Arun Rangachari – Chairman of DAR Capital Group, Monisha Advani – Director Emmay Entertainment Pvt. Ltd., Vivek Rangachari – Director DAR Media Pvt. Ltd., Madhu Bhojwani – Director Emmay Entertainment Pvt. Ltd and the media.

Nikhil Advani, Director, D-Day commented, “The idea of capturing India’s most wanted man in his own playing ground is a question every Indian has asked at least once in their life. Co-produced by Essel Vision, the film’s music is composed by Shankar Ehsaan Loy with lyrics by Niranjan Iyengar. The film is written by Nikhil Advani, Ritesh Shah & Suresh Nair and dialogues by Ritesh Shah and Niranjan Iyengar. The director of photography- Tushar Kanti Ray brilliantly captures the mood & scale of the film while the globally renowned action director duo of Tom Struthers and John Street (duo behind action of Dark Knight Rises, Inception, etc.) herald the action.

Kunaal Roy Kapur is increasingly turning into one the actors that the industry can’t do without. Kunaal blew up in the feature film scene with his remarkable performance in Delhi Belly, a black comedy directed by Abhinay De. Only one Bollywood film old, Kunaal managed to bag the co-lead with Ayushman Khurana in the Nautanki Saala, where the verdict was unanimously in his favor, fans and critics alike.

Because of his straight face humour and impeccable timing, Kunaal has managed to carve a niche for himself which is making him the pick of the town for roles with certain quirkiness. After Delhi Belly’s huge success, Kunal Roy Kapur and Vir Das will be seen once again in Kabir Sadanand’s tentatively titled film Gollu Aur Pappu.

Kapur says that this film will be different form their last joint venture , Delhi belly “It is going to be a family comedy unlike Delhi Belly, which was an adult comedy. It is a bromance and hopefully people especially kids will like it.”

Kunaal choosing not to divulge too much about the film went on to state “People know me for my comedy, hence most of the roles offered to me are in the comic space. But, I don’t want to limit myself; I would take up any interesting role that comes my way. The script is of prime importance, so if the script is interesting, I will agree to do the film.”

Viacom is still has refrained from letting the names of the leading ladies to come out and will be making the announcement shortly themselves.

Meanwhile, Kapur will be seen doing a cameo in Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani which releases on May 31.

On a different front, Kunnal is busy finalizing the cast of his directorial venture. Kunaal talking about his second outing as a director says, “dark comedy set in Mumbai and will have a social message to it.”

The film will go on the floors by the end of this year.

Clocking in at over two hours, the film is filled with all the high-octane speed chases and close combat scenes we’ve come to expect from the franchise. And while it doesn’t disappoint in the outrageously and shamelessly fun bang-em-cars, road rage and the cheesy humour departments, it does drag by taking “detours” and self-discovery trip subplots that could easily have been done without. The girl-on-girl fight scenes are actually more kick-ass than the ones with the guys. That being said, this one’s purely for fans of the franchise and action junkies alike.

There is a proportionality between the size of Vin Diesel’s biceps and the number of car chases in Fast & Furious 6. As the films gets older, the characters get bulkier and the story line thinner. Fans of the series who loved the repertoire between the characters about engine specs and rev speed, might be disappointed as majority of the story focuses on family ties and Dom’s revived loved life. The second half puts the adrenaline rush in third gear and takes the story line beyond the rubber burns and skid marks. Lin focuses on the emotional bonds between the characters making them more than just steroid studs. But there are moments when you feel that how many more explosions and chases do you have to sit through? Also, you sense a bit of haste and hurry as Lin tries to wrap up the climax which has a giant airplane in the centre piece.

That provides just enough plot to propel the movie from car chase to car chase. These flashy smashies and a climactic sequence, in which the good guys try to prevent Shaw from taking off in an airliner by tethering their cars to it, make the movie a satisfying thrill ride, at least on a par with the earlier installments. A nice twist near the end is well disguised, and a coda hints at what’s to come in Part 7.

Nearly one half of the film is wasted, doing precious nothing. When your patience starts to wear thin, you’re told the reason why the beautiful Ishkq is against commitment is because her French mother Marie (Isabella Adjani) has been ditched by her Indian father (Shekhar Kapur) when she was just seven. This Indo-French girl therefore lives in a cocoon; hates marriage and fears divorce. Preity Zinta’s maiden production has its aesthetics in place. Paris is enchanting. The actress is good but there ends the show.

What’s Good: Romantic Comedies are warm and fuzzy. What’s Bad: An overstretched story invokes a grumbling effect for the entire second part. Watch or Not?: Though I swear by romantic comedies, Ishkq In Paris did not leave a fulfilling impact on me. Despite crisp editing, it is the loose plot, not so compelling story and mostly the unconvincing chemistry which are the film’s primary drawbacks. Unless you are Priety Zinta fan, you can easily give this one a miss

After winning a million hearts and doing well at the box office worldwide, Amit Sadh, Sushant Singh Rajput and Raj Kumar Yadav starrer ‘Kai Po Che’ is all set for a grand television premiere on 26^th of May on Zee TV. Produced by UTV motion Pictures and directed by Abhishek Kapoor, the movie is based on Chetan Bhagat’s novel ‘The 3 Mistakes of My Life’.

Prateik,who is known to take his role seriously, is not leaving any stone unturned for playing his character perfectly in the film. The actor, who plays a Banarasi Romeo, underwent diction and physical training to get into the skin of the character. Prateik went a step ahead and even took training for fire dance and Parkour to be able to do his action sequences himself in the film.

Based in Banaras, the film has a lot of sequences at the Ghats where Parkour; a form of physical activity to reach from one distance to another in the quickest and most efficient way would be useful. Such sequences are never easy to shoot and require skills and director Manish Tiwarywanted Prateik to fit in the character to the tee. Prateik is also giving all what it takes to be a perfect Banarasi boy in love.

[Cannes, 17^th May] Mumbai and London based boutique studio, Flick the Switch, today announced its tie-up with Swiss production company Louise Productions for a new Black comedy set in India, entitled The Hermit.

Written and directed by Kumal Musale, The Hermit is a black comedy of human greed with a zest of eco terrorism.

The story follows a woman of Indian origin and her hostile English husband as they go to India to claim her inheritance, and are confronted with a dangerous and crazy white hermit who claims to have equal rights to live on their property. These three people, trapped by their own basest natures come unhinged in the Indian jungle, with darkly comic results.

Founded in 1996, Louise Productions develops and produces documentaries and feature films for television and theatre. L’escale, its latest feature documentary has been selected at the Cannes Film Festival 2013, in the Director’s fortnight. Its previous documentary production, Hiver Nomade, premiered  at the Berlinale in 2012, was invited by numerous festivals, won the European Film Award 2012 for Best Documentary, the Swiss Film Award 2013 for best picture, the Special Academy Award for the film’s editing and was nominated for best documentary.
